I printed and numbered all my followers as they appeared on the list of followers on my sidebar. I counted the last person on the last page as number "1" and the first person on the first page as number "573". This makes the winners as follows:
Drum roll please, ....
Grand Prize: littlepoppits
Second Prize: coralz
Third Prize: Pipparminttu
Fourth Prize: Donalda
Fifth Prize: Karina
Sixth Prize: Pamjoy
and finally,
Seventh Prize: Lila Castro
CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners!!! You have until midnight EST on Saturday July 18th to contact me with your full name and mailing address. Find my e-mail address on my profile page.
Thank you for playing everyone!! Sorry if you didn't win, but I would love to do other blog contests! It was very fun to play Santa Claus for awhile, and I only wish I could have had more winners, as I hate leaving anyone out. Perhaps next time you will be the lucky one!
A special thank you to everyone who entered, the response was overwhelming! And for leaving such SWEET, KIND comments, that lifted me up! What a great bunch of people, you bloggers are! Hugz all around!!!
Now on to new business...
I have created a video to demonstrate how I watercolor a stamped image! I am quite excited and hope it is the first of many to come, depending on the response it gets. So let me know how it turned out for you, and if you would appreciate more videos! I finally got tekkie enough to do them! lol (with loads of help from Mike of course ;-) )
EDITED TO ADD: I forgot to tell you the important ingredients to watercoloring a stamped image!! I have tried out a handful of water color papers to see which is best to stamp on, and found that THE best, BY FAR, is by Canson and comes in a pad at Michael's or other fine art supply stores. It is called 140 lb. Cold Press, Montval, by Canson. And the ink of choice is Versafine Onyx Black. You can't use Tuxedo Black by Memento, as it is not waterproof, so the ink will run with water. You can use Stayzon, however, you have to practically get an elephant to stand on your stamp to get a good impression; Stayzon doesn't like water color paper!
In case you have trouble seeing this video in Blogger, I am linking you up to where it is on You Tube:
I have never made or uploaded a video demo before, so I would appreciate the feedback. IF you can spare a minute, please let me know:
1) Did you have any trouble viewing the Blogger video or the You Tube video?
2) Which video is better quality (if you can view both)
3) Do you prefer to see/hear a video such as this, or would you rather I keep making tutorials with still pictures, as I have done in the past?
The dog image "Watson" is from the brand new release at High Hopes, and the sentiment stamp, which is older can be found here. The rest of the sentiment, which I am putting on the inside, says, "your birthday!"
I doodled the string that comes down from the Martha Stewart punched balloon, and attaches to his tail. I used Stickles on the party hat and Diamond Dust glitter (crushed glass) on the balloon for sparkle. And now here is the card I made using Watson the dog, which you watched me paint in the video demo:
And here is a close up of Watson for you:
Thanks for visiting, thanks for your valuable feedback, and congratulations to the winners of my blog candy!

ReplyDeleteyour water colour tutorial is amazing!!
brilliant to watch so clear and well done.. i was mesmerized.. the you tube video is bigger but i wouldn't necessarily say it was clearer.. they are about the same as far as that is concerned..

Oh your video was fantastic dear. I loved the You tube one the best. I have tried before to watercolor but after watching your video I am going to go try it again. You make it look so easy. Thanks for the video dear.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this tutorial! I could easily view both of the videos and did not notice much of a difference. Please keep the video tutorials coming! It is so much easier to learn how to do these things when I able able to watch someone do it, rather than just read about it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners!! Thank you for doing the videotutorial Crissy! So cool to see how you work. As for your feedback, I had no problem with either one of the video's, the You Tube version is a bit larger but the quality is perfect in both. And I do prefer videotutorials to just the pictures! Thank you for taking the time to make one!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all the lucky winners. Have fun with your prizes.
ReplyDeleteI watched the blogger version of the video and the quality was perfectly fine Crissy ... thank you for sharing.
It was wonderful to see you work in real time and listening to your little tips along the way was very helpful.
Your other non video tutorials have plenty of pictures and your instructions are very detailed so are easy to follow so either option is fine.
When it comes to choosing, I suppose it boils down to how much time you have and which option is easiest for you ... just keep them coming LOL!

Hi Crissy hope you are well. I had no problem viewing either video and I feel both were of excellent quality. I actually prefer to see video's rather than still photography as you can actually see what the person is doing. And it was so nice to hear what you sound like lol. Excellent video, think I will have to dig out my watercolours and give it a try. Beautiful card too, Watson is so cute. Thank you for the inspiration. Congratulations to your candy winners. Congratulations winners!! Thank you Crissy for the video, really inspiring :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners! Great videos. The You Tube was better but I only saw the pictures and didn't hear the talking. My hubby was suppose to hook my speakers up a while ago and now misplaced them somewhere amongst our storage in the attick. Since I would rather buy craft things (LOL!), I do without the sound.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation to winners!
ReplyDeleteHi Crissy
ReplyDeleteyour water colour tutorial is amazing.Congratulations to all the winners

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all of you.
ReplyDeleteI love the dawg Chrissy!
Cazzy x
loved the tutorial :) And the finished card was real sweet!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your blog candy winners! I have just been looking at your tutorial - it is fabulous! I have never tried using H2O's with this "wet the paper" technique. You made it look really easy and fun, and the video was really absorbing to watch. I didn't get bored at all, in fact watching the watercolouring was really therapeutic in a way. I could view both formats no problem - both were very clear and good quality although the Youtube one had the advantage of a bit bigger picture area. I am just wondering now what watercolour paper to try in the UK ... I have tried watercolour paper before but with mixed results, as obviously it really varies in quality and is quite expensive if you make a bad choice!
ReplyDeleteLove the video - much more absorbing than still pictures and easier to really visualise the technique and result. I am making sure you are in my faves list so I can keep visitng for more :-)
pauline x
I liked your video tutorials! They both look great! I like better video than pictures, you can see the whole process in a real life.

ReplyDeleteWow this tutorial is amazing. I love watching the videos. Keep them coming as I need all the help I can get. What is the watercolour ink you are using? I think the you tube video is the clearest.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all the blog candy winners. So jealous :)
Congratulations to the winners. Love your card Crissy! It's fabulous! xx
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... I soooo enjoyed this video! Your U Tube video is just as professional as your work!!! Love the video... it shows so much more than just still shots. Thanks for taking the time to do this! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteLoved the video, makes it easier to follow than still pictures. I have tons of Twinkling H20's and love 'em! This is how I paint as well, but enjoyed your video. Do make more!

Crissy you are a natural! I loved hearing your voice and you speak so clearly and confidently...and your instructions and wonderfully filmed painting is awesome! You are too cute when you get excited! Loved it-it was amazing and I hope you do many more!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I almost forgot...I prefered the You Tube video. The picture was larger and clearer and your voice came through more pleasantly than on the blogger video. Not that it isn't sweet and pleasant mind you, but it was even sweeter on You Tube!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't water color often but I was so intrigued by how you did the grass that I had to watch. I love the effect of it fading out towards the bottom. AND your technique looks so fun and easy. Gonna have to give it a try. TFS!
ReplyDeleteAwesome tutorial Crissy! You make it look easy! I prefer the youtube version. No preference whether it's a video tutorial or just pictures one - they all look awesome! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all the blog candy winners! Enjoy your goodies!

Hi Crissy, I think this video is fantastic! It is really helpful. I always think I have to do smooth transitions of my colour and I am so crazy about getting everything to look right... for example, I wold have taken about an hour to watercolour Watson! I am going to give this method a try and see if I can break myself out a bit! Oh, I tried the U-Tube video and it loaded great, really crisp. I do like the videos!
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL video, Crissy! And the finished card is perfect! I look forward to more of your video tut's! =) -Anna.
ReplyDeletewhat a great tuorial I have learned a lot if it and I was able to see both vidieo's very well
ReplyDeleteCrissy, I have been trying to improve my watercoloring for years, and I think this video has made it all click! I think I learned more about how wc works just now from you than I ever have before! THANK YOU!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I almost cried with happiness to see you watercoloring again-I'm one of the few people in the world who don't like the look of copics, and I get sad every time a great artist switches over to the "dark" side! I hope you never quit watercoloring!!
Hi Crissy...
ReplyDeleteI LOVED your watercolor clip. Would you please do more on watercoloring? So grateful. Lori
Wow Chrissy this is great. I will definitely be giving it a try the way you have show. Thank you sooooo much for showing me how to do this.
