Blog Hop and Prize Stop!

INTRODUCING: WHIMSY PRINTS!!
Hi everyone and welcome to the Whimsy Prints BLOG HOP! You've landed on a prize stop, so if  you add your name to the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post, you will be entered into a draw to win a Whimsy Prints Holiday Wishes set!   In October, Whimsy Stamps announced the release of a BRAND NEW Whimsy Stamps product line - the Whimsy Prints Collection. The Whimsy Prints Collection are beautiful sets of hand-colored images which have been digitally reproduced and die-cut into various shapes. Whimsy Prints are printed on 100lb premium coated paper and professionally die-cut leaving smooth edges. Each pack contains 12 die-cut prints (3 sets of 4 images). The Crissy Armstrong prints are lovingly hand-colored by Yours Truly ;-)
The Elisabeth Bell prints have been hand-colored by our talented Senior Designer Simonne Clay:
Whimsy Prints Collection are very straight forward and easy to use. They can be attached directly to your project with glue or double sided tape. Use them as is or cut to fit the needs of your project. One of the benefits of using Whimsy Prints is to cut back on the amount of time needed to hand color images. To summarize, it is a great way to make quick projects when time is of the essence! These are also wonderful for beginner crafters and kid projects. If you joined us for our last 2 releases, you may have seen some of the beautiful projects our DT and Special Guests have created using these prints. Today we are showcasing these gorgeous Whimsy Prints with a special BLOG HOP! In addition to our regular Special Guests, we are delighted to welcome both Crissy Armstrong and Elisabeth Bell who are joining us for this hop! The hop starts today (Friday November 30th at 12.00PM EST) and ends on Monday December 3rd at 12.00PM EST. For this hop we have 4 different candy stops where you can enter to win a set of Whimsy Prints. The location of these candy stops is a secret, so if you haven't found them, please go back to the beginning and start hopping! If you would like to hop along with us today and haven’t arrived from the Iris Wiechmann's blog, please CLICK HERE to return to the beginning of the hop at Bev's blog.
Here is what I created using one of the Whimsy Prints from the Holiday Wishes collection.  I had originally hand painted the "Christmas Pony" image (which is also available from Whimsy as a rubber stamp image) using water colours.  The DP is from Kaiser Craft Dec 25th 6x6 pad.  Roses are Whimsy Buds.  Ribbon, red twine, rhinestone swirls and flat back pearls from Michael's.  The cinnamon sticks are from my stash from years ago, originally from the spice aisle of the grocery store! The sentiment was a freebie that came with an order at Whimsy Stamps!
I'm entering the following challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges: Put A Bow On It
Creative Moments Bloggers Network: Anything Goes/Buttons and Bows
Unique Crafters Challenge: Little Girls
Emergency Crafters: Anything Goes
Raise The Bar: Bundle Up

Here are four more Christmas images I did to add to your collection!  PLUS, I have some rather exciting news...  so scroll down past the images to find out what!

And now for my big announcement!! Whimsy and I have teamed up to bring you a new product using my images (drum roll please...)  Presenting, WHIMSY PRINTS!! (click on the name to go right to it and find out more details!!)
*NEW Holiday Wishes Prints
I have hand painted all of my latest Christmas images using water colours, and Whimsy has printed these for you to purchase! These prints are pre-cut and ready to put on any card or paper craft project that you can dream up! They are real time-saving little additions to your craft stash that will help you make a card in a hurry.   If you're intimidated by colouring but love Whimsy images and want to use them on your cards/projects, all the colouring work is done for you!  You still have the fun of crafting your own work of art without all the added work of figuring out and laying down colours.  I know for some that colouring is pure pleasure and therapy, but for others it can be the most difficult part of using an open lined stamp image.  Whimsy Prints are great for crafters that want to use our images but don't want to take the time to colour or have the budget to collect all those expensive colouring mediums.  BUT, even if you do love colouring, you still might want to have a few Whimsy Prints on hand for those times when you just need to make a card in a hurry!  With a Whimsy print, you could have a beautiful card made in minutes!
There are two sets ready to purchase right now, mine and a set of Elizabeth Bell images that the amazing Simmone Clay has coloured.  You gotta see her set too, its just so stunning!  So here it is:
*NEW Merry Christmas Prints
AND, guess what --- I'm gonna give away one of my Holiday Wishes Whimsy Print sets to one randomly chosen person!  So make sure to add your name below. You've got one week!:

Challenge card/New release announced!

This is the Father's Day card I made for my hubby - the father of our four kids! I have a challenge going on over at Sundays With Crissy, and this month the theme is tags or tickets.  I made a tag that doubles as a book-mark (if he so wishes to use it that way).  I was really inspired by the layout on one of my DT's posts this month and kind of copied it.  Here's the card that inspired me by Carole.
Here's a pic with the tag pulled out:
I've entered the following challenges:
Sundays With Crissy: Tags or Tickets
The House That Stamps Built: Head for the Beach
The Sisterhood of Crafters: Going in Circles
Fab n' Funky: Polka Dots (hard to see, but they're there- light gold polka dots on the large blue DP!)

I used my computer and printer to type the message on the tag, except for "You mean the World to me" which is a sentiment from the JustRite "Kindness" set.
I used my digi image from last month (not a new release) "One Cool Cat" and coloured him with the following Copics:
Umbrella red part: R24, 29, C3, 4
Umbrella white part: C0, 1, 3
Cat: YR21, 23, 24, 27, E99, W5, 4
Sunglasses: E15, 18, 19
Chair: YG25, 97, W4
Water: BG01, 10, 11,  53, blender 0
Sky: B0000, 000, 00, blender 0
Sand: E81, 84, Y28, W5

The die cuts are from an older Cuttlebug tag die set I picked up at Michael's a few years ago. I'm not aware of the name of it.

Also, there's a brand new rubber/die release over at Whimsy today!  And, there's a new PAPER magazine that is coming out!! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy!  I am putting all the details below for your convenience.
Welcome to Whimsy Stamps June rubber stamp and die RELEASE DAY!

Today, Whimsy Stamps is releasing 19 wonderful new rubber stamps & stamp sets, 5 fabulous new Shapeology dies and an adorable new Shape EZ file. These new goodies are available to buy right now from the Whimsy Stamps store along with all your Whimsy favorites.

Things With Wings challenge card

I've used "Little Playmates" to make this birthday card for my daughter.  I coloured the image with Copics and made good use of greys for the shading.  Here is the colour list:

White of dog's body: E50 all over.  Shadows: N0, 1, 4, 5, E21
Brown spots: E13, 25, 27, 29, with some blender on the highlights
I drew around the image with BG0000
Ladybug: YR09, R46
I sponged Tea Dye Distress ink around the edges of the image

This card is a sample for my challenge blog theme for the month of May, which is, "Things With Wings".  Ladybugs have wings, so it counts!! (even though they are teeny tiny) Click HERE to go to my challenge blog and play along with us for the month of May!  I always offer free digi's to one challenge participant at month's end (chosen by Random.org).

Other stamps used on this card are:
Lavish Flourishes
Fancy Friendship Tags
Snippets Set 2

I made the background paper (the beige one) myself using acrylic paints on canvas paper.  It looked great, esp after I stamped it with the flourishes.  However, I didn't realize that the water based dyes would not dry very quickly when stamped onto the acrylic painted surface, and I had a smudge problem on my hands (quite literally!)  I fixed it with a heat gun before it made too much of a mess.  :-)
I also spent time on the inside and the back of the card.  Here's another angle:
Thank you so much for popping by for a visit today!  Take care and God bless!!

Marbled Background with Copics

Wow, where did February go?  And we're almost halfway into March.  Time just flies by these days!
I was happy to make this card for my Mom-in-love's birthday and she loved it.  I used my latest carousel horse, which was suggested by a customer.  I do not do commissioned work but I do take the odd suggestion, if it appeals to me and inspires me.  So send me an email with your suggestions, if you have any.  I can't make any promises, but you've got nothing to loose by trying!
This is Carnival Carousel Horse, and it is a digi image available at Whimsy.  Click here to see it in the catalogue.
I have a challenge blog, Sundays With Crissy (in case you didn't know) and a really fabulous design team who helps me promote my images (bless their hearts!).   This month our challenge is "Animals" so you can use an animal somewhere on your card and join in!  Here's the link to take you there.
I coloured the horse with the following Copics:
Horse body: E50, C1, 2, 3, 5
Reds: R35, 37, 39 and shaded with C3, 5 and highlighted with 0
Teal: BG45, 49 and shaded with C3
Blue: B28, 39
Flourishes on saddle etc: E50
Marbled Background:
For the background I coloured all over with E01, 02 and E95.  Since it was such a large area, I ended up with some lines of demarcation.  I thought I would disguise them if I used the colourless blender to make marble-like lines.  So using the tip of 0, I did just that -- just made random squiggly lines all over the peachy coloured background until it resembled marble.  Using just the tip of the blender with a very light touch, I was able to remove colour and leave little white streaks.  It gave a rather unique finish to the background and covered over any rough spots.  I went back in and went over some of the lines to make them stand out even more. I highly recommend trying this -- it is easy, fun, and you cover up any lines of demarcation.
Here is your close-up:

Here's the latest issue of the Whimsy magazine. Well worth looking through. AND, as always, it is FREE!!!
Whimsy just acquired the uber-famous Elizabeth Bell into their roster of artists too, so you will WANT to go see her new designs.  Of course they are amazing and beautiful and cute all rolled into one!  Go see the big announcement on the Whimsy Blog.
Thanks so much for visiting today peeps.  I know it has been awhile...
Bless you guys!
Know that you are LOVED!!

Touched By Love

I still have some Christmas cards to share with you and this is one of them!  I printed my angel onto water colour paper and used my artist quality watercolours to paint it.  Whimsy sells this image I call "Touched By Love" as a black and white image so you can colour it yourself, AND ALSO as a pre-coloured image so that all you have to do is print it and use it on a card.  The pre-coloured image is copied from this painting.  I used the original on this card and gave it to a dear friend this Christmas.
I kept the card fairly simple as I wanted the image itself to have the most impact.  The blue snowflake paper was from a pack I bought on clearance at Wal-Mart! :-)
Here is your close-up:
Thank you so much for coming by!!
God bless you!!
