Marbled Background with Copics

Wow, where did February go?  And we're almost halfway into March.  Time just flies by these days!
I was happy to make this card for my Mom-in-love's birthday and she loved it.  I used my latest carousel horse, which was suggested by a customer.  I do not do commissioned work but I do take the odd suggestion, if it appeals to me and inspires me.  So send me an email with your suggestions, if you have any.  I can't make any promises, but you've got nothing to loose by trying!
This is Carnival Carousel Horse, and it is a digi image available at Whimsy.  Click here to see it in the catalogue.
I have a challenge blog, Sundays With Crissy (in case you didn't know) and a really fabulous design team who helps me promote my images (bless their hearts!).   This month our challenge is "Animals" so you can use an animal somewhere on your card and join in!  Here's the link to take you there.
I coloured the horse with the following Copics:
Horse body: E50, C1, 2, 3, 5
Reds: R35, 37, 39 and shaded with C3, 5 and highlighted with 0
Teal: BG45, 49 and shaded with C3
Blue: B28, 39
Flourishes on saddle etc: E50
Marbled Background:
For the background I coloured all over with E01, 02 and E95.  Since it was such a large area, I ended up with some lines of demarcation.  I thought I would disguise them if I used the colourless blender to make marble-like lines.  So using the tip of 0, I did just that -- just made random squiggly lines all over the peachy coloured background until it resembled marble.  Using just the tip of the blender with a very light touch, I was able to remove colour and leave little white streaks.  It gave a rather unique finish to the background and covered over any rough spots.  I went back in and went over some of the lines to make them stand out even more. I highly recommend trying this -- it is easy, fun, and you cover up any lines of demarcation.

Here's the latest issue of the Whimsy magazine. Well worth looking through. AND, as always, it is FREE!!!
Whimsy just acquired the uber-famous Elizabeth Bell into their roster of artists too, so you will WANT to go see her new designs.  Of course they are amazing and beautiful and cute all rolled into one!  Go see the big announcement on the Whimsy Blog.
Thanks so much for visiting today peeps.  I know it has been awhile...
Bless you guys!
Know that you are LOVED!!
