Penguin Baker

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! I love any excuse to get together with family, and so although I am not American, I will be having a Thanksgiving gathering this weekend with family and it is going to be a feast! So excited. I will bring some goodies to contribute and it's going to be a fun and delicious time!
This is my Penguin Baker, (red rubber as well as digital from Whimsy Stamps) and she is all ready for her gathering with her scrumptious apple pie, fresh from the oven. I decided to make a kitchen scene and let me tell you, it was not an easy task! I am a bit adverse to rulers, but I knew I had to use one if I was going to get my lines anywhere near straight! So after I penciled it in lightly, I coloured it with some very light Copic cool greys as well as some E40 and 41. I am glad I did it because this card makes me very happy with the way it turned out.  It was really simple to add the chipboard sentiments  and I really love using them. I just sprayed them with some glue to adhere them.  The paper behind the image is a print out from a super cute digital pack, also from Whimsy called "Dino Friends

The background and image are coloured with Topics and then afterwards I used some coloured pencils on the black parts of the penguin just to cheat a bit to get some gradations smoothed out a bit. I love how this one turned out!
Hope you guys have a great holiday time!
Thanks for looking!
OH P.S., there's a Black Friday sale on at Whimsy Stamps right now, so go get em while the discount is still on!  Then Monday there's a sale on all things digital! Have fun shopping!

Snowman's Birdie Friend

Hi people! It is high time I got on my Christmas card making adventure, and this is my first foray into that. I love snow - I love it's beauty, love how it covers over all the ugly parts with a pure white blanket; love how it sparkles like billions of diamonds in the light; love how it makes all the sounds quieter and softer; love how it forces us to slow down, relax, and even take some unexpected days off.  It's fun to dress for and fun to walk through. And kids know just how fun it can be to slide on, ski on and make snowmen with.  I just love snow! So naturally, a snowman card is one of my favourites to create!  All products used are from Whimsy Stamps.
I used my new "Snowman's Birdie Friend" digital (only) image to create the scene, and then drew in the trees and snow.  All colouring is with the alcohol based Copic markers.  The "merry" is from the "Christmas Adapt-a-words" chipboard and the word Christmas is the "Christmas Large Word Die".  The paper is from the digital pack of paper called "Dino Friends".  The snowflake die at the bottom was an older snowflake die from Whimsy that has been discontinued.  I added some snowflakes using a white gel pen when I was finished with colouring.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Enjoy the snow, if you are lucky enough to have any!

Fox Mom

This was a truly fun card to make with all the die cuts!  I am just swooning over the forest-type die cuts now available at Whimsy Stamps! After all, a forest is my happy place!
I coloured the fox with Copics and fussy cut it out to put where I wanted.  The hills, trees, sky and leaves were all die cut from white paper and then coloured with Distress Oxide inks and sponges.  The birch trees are a sneak peek at a super gorgeous die set that is coming out Dec 1st! I used some coloured pencils on them to give them some colour and shading. Using die cuts like this is a fast and easy way to make a "scene" card!  Thanks so much for looking!

Polar Bear's Christmas Tree

Hi peeps! I have created my first Christmas card of the season! I am using "Polar Bear's Christmas Tree", which is available at Whimsy Stamps now in a digital format as well as red rubber.  This card actually contains  a sampling of all of my favourite products from Whimsy Stamps
Used on this card:
Christmas Moments (the sentiment)
Winter's Magic Blue digital paper and
Christmas Adapt A Word Chipboard (the word Christmas)
I coloured the polar bear image with Copics and highlighted the red bauble with a white gel pen. Fussy cut the image.

Thanks so much for coming by today!
