Hello Precious Peeps!
I was really happy to make this card with my new digital image I call "Rose Butterfly" from Whimsy Stamps. It is on sale this month at %25 percent off. And in fact, the sale is storewide on all Whimsy stamps and digi images! Check it out at the store:
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Flutter By Wednesdays: open challenge, as long as the image is a butterfly, fairy or angel
Creative Card Crew: Sparkle and Shine (hard to see, but I put M.S. sparkle on the leafy swirls coming out from the flower
The Shabby Tea Room: A Little Bit of Metal (butterfly charm in the bottom left corner)
Stamping Sisters In Christ: Challenge #53 Psalm 56:3
I'm rather proud of my attempt at making a home made flower! I used a blossom die from Spellbinders. Sponged some rosey pinks on the edges and spritzed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (cherry I think). Punched a hole in the middle and added the pearly thing, which was from a package of wedding embellies found at Mike's. The swrily white leafy things coming from the flower are Tim Holtz pre-punched grunge board, painted with white acrylic paint, and then sprinkled with some Martha Stewart Cabarerra glitter. I like how it is grainy and white while glittery at the same time.
Anyhoo, that's enough of the technical stuff! Sorry, no colour list, but I did use Copics. I need to get back into the habit of writing them down as I colour!
Here is your close-up:
God bless you Peeps, thanks for coming by.

Hi Crissy,
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy and have to tell you! I've been having problems blending at times and after watching your video's, I figured its the paper I'm using. I ran out to Curry's today and picked up the Canson Manga paper. They only had 150 lb 9x12. Eekk! Is this the one you use? I cut it down to 8.5x11 and prayed it would go through my laser printer. With a little push...it went through! Whew! I didn't doubt you for a minute... this paper blends beautifully!! I've been using a shiny type paper (Aquabee). Most times its okay but other times the ink pools and is frustrating. I ordered some Neenah paper to try, hopefully it agrees with me. Have coloured a bunch of images on the Canson, will try to put together a card and enter your Sunday Challenge...I've got 4 days!! Thanks again and cheers!
Big Hugs, Kathie
