Want some Christmas Candy???
Hi Peeps!
Well I have been a busy beaver, setting up my new digs, and trying to keep up with illustration deadlines. On top of that, my dear Mom in law has been very ill with pneumonia. She is on the mend now, but she gave us all a real scare, and was in critical condition for about a week. Thankfully, she is recovering well from her illness now.
Needless to say I still have not had any crafting time, and I miss it so much! That is why I have pulled out an oldie but a goodie, from last year. I made this card last winter using one of the first illustrations I drew for High Hopes Stamps back in 2005.
From what I remember, I stamped the polar bear image on water color paper and used regular artist water colors to color it. Martha Stewart punches and Twinklets Diamond Dust on the snowflakes.
But the real reason for this post is to offer you some Christmas Blog Candy! I have had some extra High Hopes Stamps sitting on my desk just waiting to go to a good home!
I'm not going to make you do anything for this candy, other than to let me know you want it! Just comment on this post and your name will be entered into the draw. Just for fun and if you wish to share, tell me a favorite Christmas memory. I will choose a winner by random.org on Sunday Dec 13. Enter only once, please!
One of my favorite Christmas memories is the taste of my Mom's Christmas baking. She was phenom in the kitchen, and her lemon bread and mince meat pie were off the charts awesome!
These are the stamps I will be giving away. If you are the winner, don't forget to contact me with your mailing details! I will ship international. Good luck and have fun!

my favorite christmas memory would have to b e our first christmas eve dinner as husband and wife last year. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful card, Crissy! I love how you've created that gorgeous 'background' to really make the image pop! Sorry to hear your mum has been so ill - my grandma had pneumonia many years ago, so I know how serious and worrying it is. So glad to hear she's on the mend now.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas memory takes me back to when I was only 7 years old. I remember on that particular Christmas waking up to my very own shop that my father had made for me! It had a striped canopy, a fab cash register, and was about 6ft wide! He'd even painted "Simonne's Shop" across the front. That was my favourite Christmas ever and my little brother and sister had to be customers all holiday long, as they couldn't be the shopkeeper as it was 'my' shop, LOL!!!
Thanks for the chance to win!
Hugs, Simonne x

ReplyDeleteHi, who wouldn't want some Christmas candy. I have lots of great memories of the holidays, but I think I will share a new tradition for our family that my children love and that is "Elf on a Shelf". The little elf who watches before Christmas and reports to Santa- the girls have so much fun looking for where he is hanging out each and talking to him about their Christmas wishes. It is so cute and sweet to watch them.

Love visiting you! Favority memory would have to be getting on the n bus and going downtown to the big department stores and looking at all the Christmas window displays, first came the still and then eventually they starting using mechanical figures. Tried to get Mom to take us as many times as we could. Yeah, I even remember the last streetcar in our city, used to watch them being turned around on the turnstyle by my home. We were so easily entertained in those days.

What great candy to be giving away, especially at Christmas! I love this time of the year. Coming from a single mom we did simple things like making fudge and wreaths out of clear plastic baggies because money was so tight. She always made Christmas wonderful and I never noticed we didn't have much money.
ReplyDeleteVery cute card. My favorite holiday memories are spending them with my grandparents. Both of my grandmas were such great cooks and I miss them all.

What a generous lady you are. I am sure I would put them to good use if they happened to get sent my way!
