Penguin Thinking Of You

One more card before the Big Day.  This image is my Christmas Present for members of the Whimsy Stamps And Inspiration Facebook Group! It is called, "Penguin Thinking Of You" and it is only free for a short time (until Jan 8th). If you want this image you'll need to get a Facebook account and then click on this link to go pick it up from the files section of that page.
I used the following Copics to colour Penguin Thinking Of You:
Blacks - N0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8.
Feet: YR14, 23, 27, E39
Beak and hat - E50, 51, 53, 55
Sky background - first, BG23, then BG11 on top.
Snow - BV20, B000, E70 - white of penguin similar, except no BV20, and I had a light yellow Prismacolour marker in there too (could use E50).
Lots of Snow Tex and glass glitter on this one too.  I think I'm a bit obsessed with that stuff!
Found the tiny pine cones in my front yard.  They're so cute!
Thanks for looking!

Snow Fun

My daughters both said, any card with penguins will do for their Christmas card this year.  So, this is one of them.
I coloured the image with Copic markers. I like to show dimension on white objects using a varied range of light greys and colours.  I used BV20, B91, E50, C1 and C2, BG90 and BG70 on both the polar bear fur and on the snowy ground (no E50 on the snow though).
Image is a rubber one called Snow Fun and it is found here:
Snowflake Dies from Whimsy as well as the sentiment, which is from the rubber set, "Christmas Moments".
We're getting down to the wire! Christmas is coming!!

Here's another one with Penguin Shepherd, a rubber image.
I made the poinsettias with Whimsy's beautiful Build A Poinsettia die .
Red paper layer is my own design in digital format (you print at home) sold at Whimsy HERE
The green and gold layers are from Tracy's designer paper sold as a paper pack, found at Whimsy HERE.
I made the sentiment on my computer.
Image coloured with Copics as well as some coloured pencil in the sky and some ink sponging around the outer edges. Embellishments coated with crushed glass. Thanks for looking!

Moose Friends

Hi Peeps! This is the rubber image, "Moose Friends" from the set that has some fun sentiments.  I used one of them on this card.
The neutral gold paper is from Tracy's "Christmas Cheer" pack and the blue layer is from my own digital design, "I Dream In Christmas".  I hand cut the sentiment.  Finally got to use my hand made candy canes (Sculpey) that I had made awhile ago.  Have to make more now! Thanks for looking!
I coloured the image with Copics.  Thanks for visiting!

Penguins Party!

Penguins Party - digital image.
Green paper is also digital, from the Back To School 1 pack.
Red striped paper is from Christmas Cheer, an actual paper pack. I made the Poinsettia using the ever versatile "Build A Poinsettia" die from Whimsy.  I just love that one! You can make each flower look unique and natural. It even embosses vein lines in the leaves, just by cutting it (no need to do the extra run through with the rubber mat!).  I love my Holly Vine from Whimsy too.  I've used that on just about every Christmas card since I got it a couple years ago.  Sigh... making Christmas cards... I wish it lasted all year long!  I'm having waaaay too much fun!
"Joy" is a wooden cut - out - can't remember where I got it - I have a pack of different ones.  Got em on a clearance sale one year.
I coloured the Penguins Party image with Copics. Thanks for looking!

Penguins Are Present

Hi Peeps! Here is another card using a digi image - "Penguins Are Present".  Coloured with Copic markers - I did the white dots by just not colouring in those areas.  The green dp is my own design from the digital paper pack "I Dream In Christmas". The sentiment is also digital, and it is from a "must have" set at Whimsy called, "Christmas Time Sentiments". (I get nothing from the sale of this set, I just really love it!) It really has most of the sentiments you will need, so you ought to check it out.  Can't beat the price too!

Penguin Light Me Up

Here is Penguin Light Me Up! another newly re-released digital image from Whimsy Stamps.
I coloured him with Copics and a handful of "other" brands of alcohol markers. The sentiment is also a digital one, which I infused with the red and green colours using Photoshop. You can colour the lines of digital images just as you would be able to stamp a rubber stamp using different inks - the image is still the same, you've simply used colour instead of black.  The green paper is from Whimsy's digital paper, "Back To School 1" pack and the red striped paper is from Whimsy's actual paper pad, "Christmas Cheer".  Thanks for stopping by!

Star Of Bethlehem

I used Star Of Bethlehem digital stamp from Whimsy.
Also a digital sentiment from their Christmas Time Sentiments.
Papers are from Whimsy's Christmas Cheer pack and Winter Wishes pack (not digital).
The image is coloured with Copics.  The sky background was done with Copics as well - not an easy blend to get.  I added some stars using a white gel pen.
The star was hand cut.
Thanks for looking!

Cool Ride Carousel

This is Cool Ride, now a digital image sold at Whimsy! Papers and sentiment also from the digital section at Whimsy.  Christmas Time Digital Sentiments
Also used: Build A Poinsettia die, Holly Vine die and Snowflake Dies from Whimsy.
I coloured Cool Ride with Copics.  I also used a couple of embossing folders for two of the white layers.

December 1st Digital Release!!

Also used Jolly Holiday digital paper and
Sentiment from Merry And Bright, also a digital set!
I coloured the image with Copics and used a white gel pen for some falling snow.  Check out all the newly released digital images, sentiments and papers shown below!

DIGI's ARE BACK - DAY 2!!

The long-anticipated Day is here!! Welcome to Whimsy Stamps Digital Shop Grand Re-Opening! (Day 2)
Whimsy has a selection of images, sentiments and papers that are now available to purchase, download and use immediately!
This is my creation using my new digital image, "N'Ice Friends Two", digital papers from my "Snowdrops" set, "Snowflake Dies", "Build A Poinsettia Die", "Holly Vine Die" and the digital sentiment from "Christmas Time Sentiments".
I coloured "N'Ice Friends Two" with Copics and used a white gel pen to create the falling snow.
I have a second project to share with you today as well.  Here is my card using "Gus On Christmas" digital image.  The sentiment is a bonus file that you will get when you purchase "Gus"!  I also used digital papers from my new digi paper set, "I Dream in Christmas", as well as some Enamel Dots from the Winter Wishes set, and the same snowflake die set and poinsettia set as the card above (links above).
I coloured "Gus" using Copics.
I used crushed glass glitter on the poinsettia. I love how that looks!

Digital images are great because you can flip images, use the computer to “mask” and combine images and backgrounds, and re-size everything to suit your personal projects before you print them off. Please read the Terms Of Use with each product purchased for all the details.
Digital images are so easy to use. And they can be printed again and again, as many times as you like for your own personal crafting needs! What a bonus, especially when it comes to patterned paper - no more need to hoard a paper stash - once you have purchased and downloaded Whimsy’s Digital paper packs, you can print off your favourite sheets as many times as you like! What’s more, you can customize the size of the sheet you are printing (there’s less wasted paper that way). How about that, crafters! Surely it doesn’t get much better than that!
Look at what’s new at Whimsy!
Whimsy will be releasing new digital products on the first of every month, so mark your calendars and be sure to join the release party on FaceBook where we will have games and award prizes to randomly drawn players. In fact, get on over to FB where the party has just started (Nov 1, 12 PM EST)! If you play the games, you could win something Whimsy-cal. The more you play, the greater your chances. (Exciting, right!?) But don’t leave just yet!
You have just got to see what the rest of the Whimsy Digi Designer Divas, and our Very Special Guest Zoe from Make It Crafty have created with the digi’s. We are showing off our gorgeous cards for you over the next two days, November 1st and 2nd. Go visit each blog to see what magic each Diva has cooked up. Your eyes will bug out of your head and your jaw will hit the floor. You’ve been fairly warned. Jussayin!

The long-anticipated Day is here!! Welcome to Whimsy Stamps Digital Shop Grand Re-Opening!
Whimsy has a selection of images, sentiments and papers that are now available to purchase, download and use immediately!
I have a couple of creations to show you today, using some of the digital images, papers and sentiments now available at Whimsy!
This is my creation using "Jingle Bell Ride" (digital image), "Christmas Time Digital Sentiments", "I Dream In Christmas" digital papers, "Holly Vine Die", and "Build A Poinsettia Die"
I coloured Jingle Bell Ride using Copic markers.
And for my second project, I used "Horsey Holidays" digital image, "Christmas Time Digital Sentiments", "Snowdrops" digital papers, and "Snowflake Dies".
I coloured Horsey Holidays using Copic markers, and used a white gel pen on the snowflakes.  In the close-up, now I can see I needed another coat, as you can see the printed snowflakes showing through.  oopsie!
I added Snow Tex for the snow and sprinkled glitter on it while it was still wet. (both fake snow and glitter found at Michael's).

To Serve And Protect

For the month of September, this image is free! If you go to Facebook HERE you will find all the details.  There's a special challenge going on all month long with free images for anyone and everyone who wants them, plus a chance to win a prize every week.
With all that's been going on lately, we want to be a light in the darkness, and tell the brave men and women who lay their lives on the line to keep our streets safe that we appreciate their sacrifice and bravery.  Its time to let love shine! So, I will be sending this card to my local law enforcement, just to put a happy thought into their day.  Will you, my fellow card makers, do the same? Join the challenge HERE.  Please email me if you are not a member of Facebook and still would like this image and I'll pass it on to you.  I don't want anyone left out. (must contact me before the end of September to get it free)

Doggie's Little Behind

Hi Peeps! Here's a CAS (Clean And Simple) card I did for my daughter's birthday.  Yup, I have been late with cards lately.  Just a lot of stuff getting in the way of crafting time!  I think you know what that's like.  Anyway, I coloured this "Doggie's Little Behind" stamp using Copic markers and had fun with the purple background using the zero blender to remove bits of colour.
Thanks for looking!

Hopping Raccoon

Hi Peeps, another Christmas card to share. I used "Hopping Raccoon" which is currently on sale at Whimsy! It isn't a Christmas image but by adding the red santa hat and colouring the pogo stick like a candy cane, I was able to turn it into a Christmas image! I coloured it with Copics. Here is a link to the Whimsy catalogue where you can find this rubber stamp: Hopping Raccoon
